Rank = A unit of the commonality of the species relative to all other species, ranking 1 being the most common species, 2 the second most common species and so on. Rankings are calculated using the population of the species at the height of the year.
Population = The estimated population of the species at the height of the year as published by the RSPB in 2008 and 2016. Wintering population is given for winter migrants, summer populations for summer migrants.
Rank(+/-) and population(+/-) shows the relative difference in rank/population between the two years 2008 and 2016.
